Zero Waste

What is Zero Waste?

“Zero Waste” is defined as a waste management philosophy that aims to prevent wastefulness, use resources more efficiently, review the causes of waste generation in order to prevent or minimize waste, and, in cases where waste is generated, ensure its separate collection at the source and its recovery through recycling processes.

As the world’s population and living standards continue to rise, consumption inevitably increases as well. This situation places greater pressure on natural resources, disrupts the ecological balance of the world, and causes limited resources to become insufficient to meet growing needs. Considering these factors, the importance of using natural resources efficiently becomes even more evident. Therefore, in recent years, zero waste practices have become increasingly widespread worldwide at the individual, institutional, and municipal levels.
