2020 Social Responsibility Projects

Project Title: Social Activities and Community Service Practices Conducted within the Scope of the Community Service Practices Course of the First and Emergency Aid Program

Brief Information About the Project:

Under the coordination of Lecturer Erhan ŞEKER, 150 students from the First and Emergency Aid Program carried out numerous social activities and community service practices in more than 50 provinces within the scope of the Community Service Practices course. These activities included food aid campaigns, park and beach clean-up activities, tree planting events, providing winter boots and coats for children in need, assistance for earthquake victims, support for stray animals and animal shelters, supplying baby formula and diapers for infants in shelters, and tree planting activities following the Hatay wildfire disaster. Through these activities, students developed a strong awareness of social responsibility and community service. At the end of the semester, the students expressed their commitment to continuing to help those in need and to serving society as responsible individuals.

Project Title: Book Support for Martyrs’ Libraries within the Scope of an Elective Course by the Elderly Care Program

Brief Information About the Project:

This social responsibility project, carried out within the scope of an elective course by the Elderly Care Program of our vocational school, was completed with great dedication. Despite the COVID-19 pandemic and the continuation of education through distance learning during the year, the project was successfully implemented. Organized under the slogan “We read books and send books for martyrs’ libraries. Join us!”, the project received book donations from many volunteers across different provinces, especially from students of the Elderly Care Program. Following the previous year’s book donation to Eskişehir, this year’s collected books were sent to Şehit Erhan Çiyapul Anatolian High School in Aralık, Iğdır.

Brief Information About the Project:
Under the coordination of Lecturer Erhan ŞEKER, 132 students from the First and Emergency Aid Program carried out numerous social activities and community service practices within the scope of the Community Service Practices course. These activities included food aid campaigns, park and beach clean-up activities, tree planting events, providing winter boots and coats for children in need, assistance for earthquake victims, support for stray animals and animal shelters, and supplying baby formula and diapers for infants in shelters. Through these activities, students developed a strong sense of social responsibility and community service awareness. At the end of the semester, the students stated that they would continue to help those in need and regard community service as an ongoing responsibility.

Project Title: Social Activities and Community Service Practices Conducted within the Scope of the Community Service Practices Course of the Opticianry Program
Brief Information About the Project:
During the Fall Semester of the 2021–2022 academic year, students of the Opticianry Program carried out various socially responsible activities within the scope of the SHM368.2 Community Service Practices course, which was offered as an external elective course. Under the coordination of Lecturer Şeyma Nur ÖNAL, students organized highly sensitive and meaningful activities focusing on humanitarian aid, children, animals, the environment, and nature. We would like to thank our students and instructor for their valuable contributions.
