Strong Support for the Turkish Red Crescent’s Blood Donation Campaign from Bartın University SHMYO
Bartın University continues to support the “We Are Bound to One Another by Heart” blood donation campaign organized by the Turkish Red Crescent, in line with its mission of social contribution and commitment to volunteerism. Under the leadership of our University Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya, our Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO) is also actively contributing to initiatives aimed at strengthening the university’s sense of social responsibility and promoting a culture of volunteerism.
Volunteer Support from First and Emergency Aid Program Students and the Health Club
During the blood donation campaign held at the Kutlubey Campus from 12–17 October 2026, students from the First and Emergency Aid Program at our Vocational School of Health Services, together with volunteers from the Health Club, are taking an active role in helping the campaign reach a wider audience.
In collaboration with the Turkish Red Crescent teams, our students are contributing to activities aimed at raising awareness of blood donation, encouraging voluntary donors, and supporting campaign initiatives.
Meaningful Contribution from SHMYO to Our University’s Social Contribution Goals
Under the leadership of our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya, we embrace the goal of creating value not only through education and research but also through social responsibility projects that make a direct and meaningful impact on society.
In line with this approach, the Vocational School of Health Services places great importance on educating students who, alongside their professional competencies, are sensitive to human values, possess a strong sense of volunteerism, and are committed to social responsibility as future healthcare professionals.
With the support of our Director, Prof. Dr. Özge Özgür, we aim to increase our vocational school’s participation in social contribution activities and encourage our students to take a more active role in initiatives that benefit society.

We regard the volunteer activities carried out through our First and Emergency Aid Program and Health Club as an important reflection of our university’s social contribution goals in practice.
We invite all our academic and administrative staff, as well as our students, to support this campaign, which highlights the life-saving importance of blood donation.
We would like to express our gratitude to our Rector, Prof. Dr. Ahmet Akkaya, for leading this meaningful initiative; to our Vocational School Director, Prof. Dr. Özge Özgür, for her continued support; to the Turkish Red Crescent representatives; and to all our students who have contributed to the campaign with their spirit of volunteerism.
