Orientation Training for Hospital Placements Held
A “Hospital Practice Orientation Training” was organized for students of Bartın University Vocational School of Health Services (SHMYO) to prepare them for their professional practice processes.
The training was held on Monday, September 21, 2026, at the Ağdacı Conference Hall for students enrolled in the First and Emergency Aid, Elderly Care, Medical Documentation and Secretarial Services, and Home Patient Care programs, who will undertake professional practice at Bartın State Hospital during the Fall Semester of the 2026–2027 Academic Year.
The orientation training aimed to help students adapt to the hospital environment, become familiar with the rules they are expected to follow during their practice, and begin their professional practice with an awareness of their professional responsibilities. Within the scope of the training, students were informed about the functioning of the hospital, the introduction of practice areas, working procedures, patient and employee safety, infection control, occupational health and safety, protection of personal data and patient privacy, professional ethics, communication, and issues requiring attention throughout the practice process.
Emphasis was placed on the importance of hospital practices in developing students’ professional competencies by enabling them to reinforce the knowledge and skills they have acquired through theoretical courses in a real healthcare environment. It was also underlined that students are expected to demonstrate professional attitudes and behaviors as members of the healthcare team, comply with institutional rules, and prioritize patient safety throughout their practice.
The orientation training was organized within the scope of the educational and practical cooperation between Bartın University Vocational School of Health Services and Bartın State Hospital, with the aim of enabling students to begin their field practices in a more informed, safe, and prepared manner.
Through an educational process that brings together theoretical knowledge, practical training, and field experience, efforts to support the professional development of our students will continue.
