Future Healthcare Heroes Don Their Vests: First and Emergency Aid Students Take Their First Steps into the Profession with the Paramedic Oath

The “Vest Wearing and Paramedic Oath Ceremony,” organized by the First and Emergency Aid Program of Bartın University Health Services Vocational School, was held with great enthusiasm and pride, bringing together academicians, students, and their families.

The ceremony began with a moment of silence and the Turkish National Anthem, followed by opening speeches. In his address, Bartın University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Zafer CEYLAN emphasized the critical importance of healthcare services in human life and highlighted the sacred responsibility that paramedic candidates will undertake. He advised students to always be guided by knowledge, conscience, ethical values, and compassion throughout their professional careers.

Following this, the Director of the Health Services Vocational School, Prof. Dr. Özge ÖZGÜR, stated that in addition to acquiring professional knowledge and skills during their two-year education, students had also developed patience, dedication, and a strong sense of teamwork. She expressed her confidence that they would make significant contributions to the healthcare sector as future healthcare professionals.

Lecturer Erhan ŞEKER of the First and Emergency Aid Program emphasized that the vest worn by students today is not merely a uniform, but a symbol of knowledge, responsibility, self-sacrifice, and a commitment to placing human life above all else. He encouraged students to remain devoted to science, ethical principles, and compassion throughout their careers.

Following the speeches, students proudly donned their vests and recited the Paramedic Oath. The ceremony was marked by emotional moments as students celebrated this important milestone in their professional journey alongside their families and academic staff.

As part of the ceremony, plaques were presented to students who demonstrated outstanding academic achievement. The plaque for the top-ranking student, Seda Yaman, was presented by Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Zafer CEYLAN. The second-ranking student, Mehmet Akkaya, received his plaque from Bartın University Vice Rector Prof. Dr. Mehmet Cengiz KARAİSMAİLOĞLU, while the third-ranking student, Havvanur Kılıç, received her plaque from the Director of the Health Services Vocational School, Assoc. Prof. Dr. Özge ÖZGÜR.

The ceremony concluded with a group photograph, creating proud and memorable moments for both students and their families.

By taking the Paramedic Oath and wearing their professional vests, the students of Bartın University Health Services Vocational School First and Emergency Aid Program marked an unforgettable beginning to a career dedicated to saving lives and serving humanity.
