At Bartın University (BARÜ), renowned hairstylist Sabit Akkaya met with students to share his professional experiences and demonstrate haircutting techniques through practical applications.

Organized in collaboration with the Hair Care and Beauty Services Program of Bartın Vocational School of Health Services and the Career Planning Application and Research Center, the event attracted significant interest from participants, industry representatives, and students from various provinces.

Held at the Conference Hall of the Faculty of Economics and Administrative Sciences and Faculty of Education on the Kutlubey Campus, the program began with a video presentation highlighting Sabit Akkaya’s professional journey. During the interview moderated by Ebru Adalı, Akkaya shared his experiences and offered valuable advice to young participants.

In addition, within the scope of the 3+1 workplace training model implemented for associate degree students at BARÜ, students interning with Sabit Akkaya’s team were invited to the stage during the event coordinated by Lecturer Dr. Gizem Doğanel Aksoy, and the contributions made to their professional development were emphasized.

At the end of the program, BARÜ Rector Ahmet Akkaya and the Director of the Vocational School of Health Services, Özge Özgür, presented Sabit Akkaya with a certificate of appreciation and commemorative gifts. Additionally, faculty members of the Hair Care and Beauty Services Department — Dr. Lecturer Ömür Uçar, Lecturer Dr. Gizem Doğanel Aksoy, and Lecturer Ruşen Akman — presented him with a plaque of appreciation.

The program concluded with a question-and-answer session followed by a live haircut demonstration performed on selected models from among the participants. During the session, students had the opportunity to closely observe the techniques used in haircutting and reinforce their theoretical knowledge through practical experience.
