A meaningful social responsibility project was implemented within the scope of the “Volunteer Studies” course conducted in the Elderly Care Program of Bartın University Vocational School of Health Services.

Under the coordination of Lecturer Arzu Tazegün Özsezgin, students Sultan İlhan and Eslem Ekici prepared the project titled “A Seed for Greener Tomorrows,” through which participants were gifted “Living Pencils.”

These special pencils, symbolizing a sustainable cycle from nature back to nature, contain various plant seeds at their tips. Once the pencils are no longer usable, they can be planted in the soil, aiming to increase environmental awareness and promote sustainable living.

Within the scope of the project, individuals in the community were informed about the purpose and significance of the project while the “Living Pencils” were distributed. The project outcomes were also shared with the school administration, course instructor, and students taking the course. Positive feedback from participants demonstrated the impact and significance of the project.

We congratulate our students and advisor lecturer who contributed to this meaningful project promoting environmental awareness.
